Before I even started to search for plants in their natural habitats, I’ve traveled through many mercados wanting to buy the cut plant or a dried powder. Only in Chiclayo on the northern coast of Peru, in Mercado de los Brujos there was an old man who decided to devote his entire stand to that one plant. He had probably all of the possible types of Huachuma.
We’ve planned to have the session by the Pacific. Two weeks have passed since the last “trip”, and it was not easy to find the right spot for the event. Finally we’ve reached Zorritos and an eco hostel run by Leon, a twisted Frenchman who lives there for 20 years now. We really liked the atmosphere, we wanted to take a break from the typical Peruvian style of a low-budget hostel. We’ve stayed for a week, in the meantime executing our plan concerning purchasing Chiclayo. We’ve spent grandfather’s day surrounded by waves and sand.
