Mindo Lindo – Sharing the local entheogen with the locals

Ecuador, March 2016

Foggy forest, one of the most beautiful I’ve ever been.  Jet – G our host in the photo below and his buddy Walther drank a cup of green broth. Knowledge of local consciousness-altering substances is weak among Ecuadorian youth. They know grass, alcohol, boosters. The activities of religious institutions and global culture have built up many fears about old methods of plant use, but the greatest fear was brought by European conquistadores to this area 500 years ago. I felt a sort of still unconscious mission and a great paradox of history, that I, as a pupil of European culture, could mediate in rediscovering the old knowledge destroyed by my ancestors.
